Propeller & Shafting Symposium Set For September

SNAME announced its ninth triennial Propeller and Shafting Symposium. The two-day event is scheduled to be held at the Cavalier Hotel, Virginia Beach, Va. on September 20 and 21, 2000. The symposium is held once every three years and is organized by the M-16 Panel of SNAME.

The second in a series of six fleet oilers of the Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO- 187) Class under a contract with the U.S. Navy by the Shipyards Division of Avondale Industries, Inc., was christened the Joshua Humphreys (T-AO-188) in recent ceremonies at the yard.
